Like the other commenter, the poll didn't work for me either, but in any event it was going to be hard for me to answer within the confines of the possible answers. With the understanding that my viewpoint may be unique, I don't really care how often you publish - once a week is fine with me, as is once every two weeks, as is once a day. I don't think you should feel like you have to publish on any particular schedule. That can make posts seem forced. I think you should publish whenever you have something genuine to say. I subscribed to you originally because of your ability to see over hills and around corners. I imagine that you have many subscribers that share that ability with you and who subscribe to you to add your insights to their datasets. But I know that kind of analysis is difficult and is impossible to provide regularly, and I find the other things you post to be generally interesting as well. Although I don't agree with everything you say, I won't unsubscribe under any foreseeable circumstances, and certainly not due to the fact that I might disagree with what you say, because I'm an adult who lives in the real world and who understands that people of good faith can hold different viewpoints with respect to various issues.

I appreciate all your topics and am glad to have such an encyclopedic resource contained in one place. Sometimes I skim. For example, I know I’m unable to build stuff at my age. But I still like knowing it’s here and I have referred you to many people who ARE capable of carrying out the survival tasks. You are a trusted resource for many people. Don’t doubt that. As to how often and when? No preference there from this reader.

The poll did not work fir me so here are my answers :

Once a week is fine. I read a lot and appreciate less as more. Anybtimey of day is fine (I’m retired and save them in a ‘must read soon’ pile. :-) I’m into whatever you think is relevant. Try to go light on doomism but never compromise on the truth. I appreciate honest dialogue. It’s ok to disagree but better to add perspectives and have respectful exchanges (I’m Canadian). Keep up the good work… thx

I have really enjoyed your posts on the psychology of human nature. I haven't seen other writers doing a deep dive on the connections between current events and what is possibly driving people to act the way they do, with the historical background that you bring.

yes, I agree and I really appreciate them too. While some things make intuitive sense, others are very new thinking to me, and it feels less lonely to understand

When I unsubscribe it's usually because the content seems redundant and excessive, I don't think reading it is worth my time anymore. That is literally never the case with you.

I am going to keep being a subscriber for as long as I can afford it no matter what you decide. I've never not appreciated/been educated by/enjoyed your posts, regardless of subject and tone. I really like the way you write and your perspective, so even though I did fill out your survey, I'll be here as long as I can. Thank you. Your work is important and useful and worth as much or more to me than the other bloggers you mentioned. Keep up the good work 💜

a few notes - your writing is so detailed and involves so much research I wouldn't reasonably expect more than once a week, even if paying a much higher subscription price. Def no more than twice

It truly doesn't matter what time of day imho when you have an audience in many time zones, though maybe you already analyse and send for best times for majority? - if not, don't worry about it. For me, its just read when I have the brain space anyway, and I'd guess a few people might be like that unless you are talking about really current topical, urgent stuff

I like the option of the author can push back on silly stuff and encourage respectful debate which it mostly is and I appreciate

The wee bit of constructive critique I'd offer (which I think I've emailed through as well as various other brain farts which probably make me sound like a crazy person, which is only partially true) is that people will switch off when you complain about how people are treating you, or disrespecting your writing, unsubscribing etc - it doesn't personally bother me, and I like it when people share very human frustrations but its feedback I got when running a membership based org

Actually I should clarify - mostly the feeling underappreciated, people dropping subs - I think saying you got got unsubs after talking about Mamdani would galvanise people who aren';t genocide apologists. Its a particular curious thing, folks are fine with sharing frustrations about many things, but they can get weirdly stand offish when you talk about needing money - cos god forbid we honest about that :) Basically keep being awesome

Jessica, you're doing a fine job. Your work has evolved over the years to become (to me) a go-to site for information that will help us get through the coming collapse AND gives me a place to both vent my...opinions/knowledge (such as it is) and read other's expertise/opinions. It's tough trying to be everything you can be, but I can't note anything that I think you need to post less of.

As long as you've done your research and due dilligence...have at it. Those of us who disagree will let you know...hopefully in a respectful way.

As others have said Jessica I really appreciate the honest and thoughtful nature of your work. I am grateful for the huge amounts of research and work you put into each one. I read them all whenever they come out. I think for a lot of us we are very aware what is happening and it feels like a rebellious, liberating act to acknowledge that when so many others are not as has also happened with the pandemic. I love what you do. I think we’re at a point where social niceness is a long way under the train. Keep doing it however that works for you. I’ve answered the poll but am flexible about those answers to fit around what works for you and your family.

I like your posts. One thing I would value is more links to products in different countries. When you talk about useful things people could buy to prep, it's usually all US links. I'm guessing you have subscribers in the UK, Australia, Canada and so on. Additional links to products in those countries would be great for a UK reader like me!

I'd be fine with less frequent posts too. Once every 10 days would be a nice pace for me.

I tried to comment but I deleted it. I'm an old time lurker type, got into a flame war in 1989 and have been unable to share my views online since. Go figure. Anyway, love everything you write and will continue my subscription until you stop writing. I was able to complete the poll.

I tried to fill this out but could not. The answer would not click. Also, you could leave a box for other in the poll and if you need it, a space to briefly explain other. I do not know how much you post but if I have time I read all of your posts. It seems like a couple of times per week. I think that is plenty for you to work and research and for us to digest. Write what you interests you, I signed up because I trust your voice.

I read your posts because of your "sentinel intelligence": seeing specific dangers in advance of most of us, and, more importantly to me, seeing the big picture that almost nobody does. In my opinion (take it or leave it) you seem to be very thin skinned for someone who daily puts their self out there. The MAGA morons who are a sizeable slice of your demographic ('Murica) are so resentful and full of rage that if you didn't get hate it would indicate you weren't doing your job. If you speak too much difficult truth to the less hateful mainstream Americans they will tune you out. Get tough kiddo. I really wish for you and your family that you lived in Canada; not perfect and not without some level of the hate and cruelty, but light years ahead of the Trump Reich. PS as far as how often to post- a couple times a week and more if and when your trouble detector goes off!
