When the noise has burned you out and the void has screamed back, don’t go hunting for the next distraction. Let the silence have you. Stay long enough for the mind to stop rehearsing, defending, explaining. Long enough for the body to remember it’s safe. In that stillness, the world is no longer something to endure or improve. It just is. And for a moment, that’s enough.

Jess, this really hits home, sometimes the most healing thing isn’t another conversation or distraction, but pure, uninterrupted quiet. It’s amazing how a little silence can make the weight of everything feel lighter. We forget it’s not just rest for the ears, but for the soul.

I’m reading this while floating in my cheapie seasonal pool. That’s my floatation therapy!

And I just splurged on black-out curtains because I’m desperate for solid sleep.

Silence is so valuable in this noisy world. When the noise gets too much, I put on a headset that blocks all sound. Or I take a walk in the forest or on the beach, where there aren’t any people.
