During a town hall, a woman named Martha asked Kamala Harris what she planned to do about the Long Covid crisis, which is really the Covid crisis, because everyone infected with Covid comes away with damage.
Most of them just don’t know it.
Yet.
Martha applied for social security disability insurance three years ago. She’s still waiting on a decision. She has no job and no place to live.
Martha was specifically asking Harris about health insurance, but the context begged for a more comprehensive response. Anyone with any knowledge of the disease would’ve talked about the need for clinical trials and access to drugs to treat the viral persistence Martha’s likely dealing with. They would’ve talked about the need for mask guidance and clean air, at least in healthcare settings.
They would’ve said:
