I have been in conversation with a doctor who, while in clinical practice and with a team, was using hydroxyurea, a repurposed drug for sickle cell anemia, with great success. They have studies to support its efficacy and safety profile, but when they have tried to get the FDA to talk with them, it’s crickets. It is beyond disappointing.
